Puteti campa la Vilele Vidra - DN 7A. Sunt la 10km de transalpina si intr-un cadru absolut magic.

Salut,

In primul rand felicitari pentru site. Este foarte util.

In al doilea rand as vrea sa urc weekendul urmator (6-7 Sep) cu motocicleta dispre Ranca spre Sibiu.

Hi to all,

after a few time I come back, asking the same question: is Transalpina open or is planned to be open this year? I'm planning a travel by moto in Romania again this summer. I don't want to be too old to travel in this fantastic road! :D

Thank you again!
Joe

Hello Joe,
Nothing has change regarding Transalpina from your last visit. Officially the road remains closed but, like in the last years, on your responsibility you can go.
I'm glad you're back! :)

Thank you Alin,

so I'm going to think if I can plan the trip for this summer. My wish is to cross again Trasfagarasan from Sibiu (nord to south) and come back on Transalpina from south to nord.

We will see! :-)

Joe

Hi;

I also planig the same trip as Joe in the end of june.
I found two information about this road:
http://www.rancaonline.ro/transalpina.php
and from official page http://www.cnadnr.ro:
http://www.cnadnr.ro/docs/comunicate/co ... 202014.pdf

So If believe in it, both roads should by open this year, DN76c from 1st of may, DN7C from 1st of july.
Can I go there if it's closed? I've heard so, but on my own responsibilty. Is it true?

Regards;
Toperz

Hi Toperz,

Transfagarasan (DN7C) will be open from 1st of July like in each year.
Transalpina (DN67C) will be open in state of road in work , because is not finished yet (the road has no railings, signs and no road line marking) but probably on 1st of June because this year is a lot of snow on the road. We will announce on this forum and also on Transalpina Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Transalpina.biz) the moment when the road will be accessible.

Regards;
Alin

Hi Alin;

Thanks for reply, it's explained many.
Can I use these roads when they are closed but there is no snow?

So I'm waiting for the official opening :)

Toperz

Usually when is no snow are immediately open. But this year is a lot of snow (see photo below from Transfagarasan) and it is dangerous to drive, especially on Transfagarasan because it is a great risk of avalanche on the road.
